Need for TB testing to enter the UK : immigration

A good friend of mine is a British Citizen and goes to the UK to check for greater than six months. He’s a Hong Kong resident and had stayed in Hong Kong for greater than six months. We aren’t certain whether or not he would wish to take a TB take a look at to enter the UK as though the TB take a look at is meant for visa candidates, it’s said that people who find themselves Hong Kong residents and intend to remain within the UK for greater than six months have to be examined. Does he have to be examined? Please assist ASAP as he is because of go away for the UK quickly. Thanks upfront!
