France utterly condemns the massive Russian strikes carried out last night deep into Ukrainian territory, particularly in the west of the country, involving 476 drones and 48 missiles. The strikes, which targeted residential districts and energy infrastructure, caused numerous civilian casualties. In Ternopil alone, the initial toll is at least 25 dead, including children, and more than 70 injured. This brutal, unacceptable attack confirms once again that Russia shows no intention of ending its war of aggression against Ukraine.
France expresses its profound solidarity with the victims’ families and the emergency services mobilized. It will continue its efforts, alongside all its partners, to bring about a just and lasting peace, and reaffirms its determination to support Ukraine in the long term.
